White Birch Resort offers all of the onsite toys and amenities for free to anyone staying at the resort. Take time to see what there is to do for the entire family to crate that long lasting bond while on a traditional Minnesota family vacation. The entire family will find something that they will surely want to experience.
Lake Water Toys
With the lake at your doorstep, why not take an adventure and test your skills. Kayaks are one of the easiest to master. We have 5 kayaks. We also have the latest craze, 5 paddle boards, which require more stability skills. They are truly a hit with our guests. We also have a longtime Minnesota tradition, canoes, for the couple who want to take an adventure on the lake together. The aluminum pontoon pedal boats are always a hit with the younger kids and grandparents.
Dock Fishing in Minnesota
Everyone loves dock fishing at the resort, from the beginner to the more experienced. Panfish usually visit their hiding spot under the dock and seem to bite most in the evenings. All you need is, a small fishing pole with a few night crawlers and sit back and wait for the bite.
Hiking Trails
New for summer 2022, we are excited to finally be offering 150 acres of land with trails to explore. Hiking trails wind along the Blackduck River and thru the woods. Guests will find 100 year old tree groves and so much room to explore. These beautiful 150 acres are located right next door to the resort. At your leisure, come and make a fun and relaxing morning or afternoon exploring the Northwood wilderness taking in all the different trails. Remember to pack your binoculars and cameras to catch some beautiful wildlife art. Sorry NO ATV’s allowed.
Biking Trails
Another fun activity on and off the resort is bicycling. Bring your own bikes from home. You can ride mountain bikes on the trails next door to the resort or rent one of our electric bikes. If you want to venture on paved trails, guests will find in the small tourist town of Blackduck, 5 miles away, a small route thru the town. If you are an avid cyclist and opt for a longer adventure, please check out all the local paved trails. To name a few around Bemidji area; Lake Bemidji Loop, Paul Bunyan State Trail, Lake Bemidji State Park, Movil Maze and Diamond Point Park. Bemidji is 25 miles from the resort.
Campfires & Making Memories
Sitting around a campfire is always one memory that we all can relate to. Whether making smore’s or roasting hotdogs it is enjoyed by all ages. Here at White Birch resort we have private burn barrels specially crafted for each cabin. All you have to do is get your own wood, which is cut and free for the night campfire.

Star Gazing in MN
Sometimes when you live in the cities, unfortunately, you aren’t lucky enough to experience such wonderful, clear, crisp star gazing. At White Birch Resort, you will never leave disappointed. Imagine an evening in the darkness of the night and just marveling at a majestic Minnesota starry night, anytime of the year. You are missing something awe inspiring.
Whether you are a young or an old “kid at heart”, gazing at the stars isn’t necessarily about naming each star, describing how they formed or trying to spot a specific constellation. It’s simply about sharing in the moment and experiencing a little bit of our beautiful universe and all it has to offer. Being together when the stars come out, can give such a dazzling show. It’s truly awesome to behold all year round.
Water Trampolines
One of our newest additions to our resort activities, are the added water trampolines and foam lily lake pad for kids of all ages to enjoy in the lake. Let the kids wear themselves out bouncing on the trampolines, running the lake log roller and sunning themselves on the lily lake pad. The guests say the “the three NEW trampolines are some of the resorts best additions” to all the FREE resort activities.
Beach Life in Minnesota
If sunbathing and relaxing on the beach or taking a dip in the lake sounds good to you, then White Birch Resort has the beach for you. Take your book down to the lake shore and watch your kids experience the water toys at the beach. Sometimes the little things, such as sitting on a beach and listening to the waves wash on shore or watch your little ones playing in the beach sand can be such great medicine for anyone to recharge their soul.
Lawn Games
Challenge a family member to a simple game of horse shoe or cornhole “bean bag” game. And for that competative group, imagine even having a generational lawn tournament. Teach the younger generation the simple game of horse shoe and/or corn hole “bean bag” while creating some bonding time.
If you have a larger group, then start a friendly game of volleyball or badmitton. Great for everyone of all ages and athletic ability.
All the games are right next to the lake and located on such beautiful manicured lawn to enjoy any lawn game.
Heated Swimming Pool
Check out the 20′ x 40′ heated pool overlooking the lake. Let the kids jump in and cool off during the heat of the summer.
The pool depth is 3′ to 9′, so the entire family can enjoy some pool fun. There are chase lounge chairs on the pool deck to work on that summer tan or to discover some relaxing time in a book.
Pool closes the day after Labor Day.
Fall Colors in Minnesota
The change of colors happens in October in Minnesota. With all of the maples, poplar and birch on the way to the resort and next door, you will get quite a variety thru out the northern part of Minnesota. Take a drive thru some backroads to view some of the closest natural wonders on a cool crisp fall day.
Minnesota Winter Activities
The Minnesota outdoor isn’t just for summer lake time. Winter time in Northern Minnesota offers so many different activities for everyone. Spend a fun family day enjoying downhill, cross country skiing, tubing and sleigh rides at Buena Vista Ski Area.
Blackduck Lake is an awesome place to try your ice fishing skills. There are perch, northern, crappie, blue gill and walleye. Whether a beginner or an avid fisherman, White Birch Resort will help in finding the hottest spot to drill that special hole.
If guests want to bring their own equipment from home, the frozen lake also offers ice skating, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing and walking those lake snow trails and so much more. Or better yet, bring your own snowmobiles and enjoy the snowmobile trails right outside the resort doors for a fun day of snowmobiling. Then come back to fabulous resort accommodations and jump in your very own warm, soothing private 12-person commercial grade hot tub right at your own cabin.
